The Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola took to his social media handle, Twitter, on Saturday to express his excitement over the 2-0 victory of the London side over Hull City in a Premier League Clash.
Sanchez scored his 16th goal of the EPL season and gave the Gunners the lead in the 34th minute of the game after the ball ricocheted off his hand.
He sealed the win for his side from the spot after Sam Clucas conceded a penalty for handling on the line.
Aregbesola, said he would gladly take the two goals and three points to celebrate the win.
He tweeted, “Feels like forever since we last won a football match. I’ll take the goal and three points. Thank you very much.”
The win saw Arsenal maintain their unbeaten run against Hull in their last 14 games in all competitions, their eighth win in their last nine games.
Hull began the game brightly, dominating possession. Oumar Niasse and Lazor Markovic had half chances to score but fluffed their lines.
But in the 33rd minute Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi, making his 22nd appearance for the Gunners this season, started the move which led to the goal from the left flank.
The Nigerian picked out Mesut Ozil whose cutback pass was deflected to the path of Kieran Gibbs and with Eldin Jakupovic trying to make a save the ball bounced up and hit Sanchez hand before going in.
In the second half Hull started brightly again with Markovic finding Niasse in the box from the right flank but Petr Cech was on hand to make a brilliant save.
In the 62nd minute, Iwobi failed to hit target after playing a cheeky one, two with Mesut Ozil in the box before curling his shot wide.
Theo Walcott also fired a tame shot at Japukovic in goal for Hull City after he was played on by Sanchez
