The Olufon of Ifon-Osun, Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola, has begun moves to end the six-year vacant stool crisis in Ifon-Omima Kingdom, Ondo State.
Oba Ipadeola embarked on a two-day solidarity visit to Ifon-Omima on Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, 2026, to meet with stakeholders over the installation of a new traditional ruler.
The stool became vacant following the death of the late Olufon of Ifon-Omima, Oba Israel Adewusi, in 2020.
This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olufon of Ifon-Osun, Akeeb Adekunle Yusuff.
According to the statement, Oba Ipadeola was accompanied by his wife, chiefs, members of the royal family, members of the Ifon Progressive Union (IPU) and palace officials.
On arrival in the community, the monarch was received at the residence of the Regent, Adéùlé, before proceeding to the town hall where stakeholders had converged.
At the town hall, he was received by kingmakers, chiefs, members of the royal families, representatives of the Ifon Development Union (IDU), Ifon Improvement Forum (IIF), Ifon Youth Association (IYA) and other dignitaries.
The statement said the monarch held consultative meetings with kingmakers, ruling houses and development unions as part of a fact-finding mission on the vacant stool and the challenges facing the community.
It added that the visit rekindled the ancestral bond between the two kingdoms, noting that Ifon-Omima traces its origin to Ifon Ile, now Ifon-Osun in Orolu Kingdom, Osun State.
