The Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Osun Central Senatorial District, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, has disclosed that he is currently enrolled for a Masters Degree program despite his humble background as a bus driver.
The Former Olorunda local government Chairman made this disclosure while featuring on a Yoruba current affairs programme (Agba Oselu) on Rave 91.7fm Oshogbo on Monday.
The Osun Central Senatorial hopeful noted that despite his humble background as a bus driver, he has now enrolled as master degree student at Nasarawa State University, adding that despite his humble background he has served as a Special Adviser to the Governor, a Local Government Chairman and a State Party Chairman.
“Of a truth I started as bus driver, despite series of backlash from my traducers, I always focus on my dream, I’m not going to be distracted with their insinuation. I still strived to develop myself from that bus driver to Special Adviser on Special Duties, to be a Local Government Chairman for three years and State PDP Chairman.”
“I was one of the best State PDP Chairman and now I’m running for a Senate seat and they are still saying I’m not educated, they are just wasting their time because I possess the minimum qualification to run for office which is the O’level certificate, aside that I still decide to study further and upgrade myself, they should continue berating me while I progress.”
“How will some people say I did HND before OND, for avoidance of doubt, I waited for a year after my OND before going further for my HND. I thank God I am currently pursuing Masters degree, they should continue with their insinuations while I progress with my life. As State Party Chairman, I attended and contributed to several proceedings at the National Secretariat which were conducted in English Language. I was also awarded best Local Government Chairman in London by Ben TV and I fluently delivered my speech in English language and they said I can’t speak English.” Olaoluwa added.
