The National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC),has appointed Alhaji Fatai Akinbade as the Chairman of the National Electoral Committee for Ogun State primaries of the party slated for tomorrow, Wednesday.
Akinbade who was the Osun State ADC governorship candidate at the just concluded election,was mandated by the national headquarters of the party through a message sent by the party’s National Coordinator, Electoral Matters and INEC Liason, Chief Anayo Arinze.
The former Secretary to the Osun State Government is expected to oversee the primaries that would produce the governorship flag bearer, the National and the State Assemblies’ candidates.
While welcoming Akinbade at a stakeholders’ meeting held at Obasanjo Library on Tuesday,(2/10/18), the Ogun State Chairman of ADC, Dr Bolade Osinowo who noted that Direct Primaries system would be used in electing candidates angling for different positions in the state,enthused that with the caliber of Akinbade in charge, the outcome would be credible.
Osinowo then appealed to party members to see the exercise as a family affair that should be rancour-free,adding that with unity, the party would dislodge present occupants in the state.
