NANS threatens to shutdown Osun over strike in Tertiary Institutions

The National body of the National Association Nigerian Students’ Joint Campus Committee has threatened to surcease the state capital if the State government failed to address the demands of lecturers of the state-owned tertiary institutions that has reportedly been on strike since July.

NANS, which made its position known in a release made available to osun.life, berated the continued closure of schools in the state.

The body also asked the state government to immediately look into the issues that led to the closure of the institutions.

According to the release, “We have been going silently and gently in addressing the Shutdown of all Osun owned tertiary institutions for the past Six weeks now.

“To avoid name calling and untrue speculations amidst the students populace especially at a critical time like this, We wish to state clearly that an ultimatum had been given to the State government of Osun to proffer solution to the cause of strike and satanic shutdown of our campuses of which we shall take to streets and shutdown all activities in the state capital territory immediately our ultimatum lapses and nothing is done to address the issue.”
