Ooni welcomes new AIG, calls for a peaceful guber election

The Ooni Of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, welcomed the new Zone 11 Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Danjuma Ibrahim in his palace and implored him to curb all forms of election violence to ensure free, fair, and peaceful governorship election in Osun State.

The monarch made this declaration during a courtesy visit by the new AIG to the palace of Ooni on Wednesday, August 15, 2018.

Oba Ogunwusi called on the AIG to use all available mechanism to eradicate cultism across Osun, Oyo and Ondo, especially in Osun State where election is fast approaching.

He further implored the AIG to ensure adequate forces are deployed to the State during the September 22, governorship election in Osun State, in order to prevent violence, rigging, anarchy and bloodshed in the state.

The new AIG lauded the monarch for his hospitality and also gave assurance to the people of the State that there would be no form of violence before and after the election.
