A Professor of Political Science and International Relations and the Provost of Social and Management Sciences at the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti. (ABUAD). Professor Adeolu Durotoye, has promised to attract a $25 billion investment if elected as the Governor of Osun State.
Durotoye, who is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disclosed this during a radio program tagged (Frank Talk) on Rave FM, monitored by our correspondent.
The Professor, while fielding questions on how he is going to improve the state, disclosed that He’s going to attract a $25 billion over four years, on assuming power through the attraction of foreign direct investment from Nigerians abroad.
He disclosed, according to world bank data. Nigerian has one of the highest remittances from abroad. Promised, He is going to achieve the investment through collaboration with Agency for Diaspora Affairs. Responding to questions on quality education. He reiterated on improving Teachers capacity through exposure to global best practices, by organizing trainings and seminars from time to time and adequate financial motivations, this model he said has worked perfectly in Ekiti State.
When asked on his membership of the PDP, a party that has been tagged as a corrupt, He said “ I don’t have any regret being in PDP, in fact, some APC leaders wish I am in their party.” he further praised the PDP as the only party that provides a level plain ground for everyone. He berated the APC for lack of internal democracy, for not been able to successfully organize elective Congresses at the State and National level.
However, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, a Guber Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while responding to the allegations, said every party has his own structure, that APC is a Democratic party that believes in rule of law, He later took a swipe at Professor Durotoye for being in PDP because of his Guber ambition while his (Alabi) membership of the APC is to serve the people not just to become a Governor.
