Police Arraigns 42yr-old man over Car Theft

A 42-year-old man, Adebowale Gbenga was arraigned by the Osun State Police Command on the 6th of March, 2018 before an Osogbo Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing a Toyota Camry car.

The accused facing a count charge of theft pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor informed ghetto court that the offence was committed by the accused between March and December 2017. He also stated that as at when apprehended the accused had a Toyota Camry with registration number KJA405ER, in his possession. He further explained that this offense contravenes Section 430(1) of the Criminal code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Pain, 2003.

The Defence Counsel, Mrs. Patience Ofoyeju applied for bail,  which was granted by the Magistrate, Mrs. Adebukola Awodele in the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Naira with three sureties.  She stated that one of the sureties must be a civil servant while the other should be a close relative of the accused.

She adjourned the case to the 9th of April for hearing.
