Osun Police recovers 19 vehicles from robbery gang

The Osun State Police Command has recovered eighteen Toyota Camry and one Toyota highlander vehicle from four suspects. The suspects, between the ages of 40 to 45 are Adenle Adesola,  Akoodu Olufemi, Adenle Babafemi and Adeleke Timothy.

 

Parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye said the recovery was a wonderful one.  He credited the recovery to the Special Anti – Robbery Squad unit, he stated that one of the suspects, Adeleke Timothy, had been arrested on the 19th of December,  2017 for allegedly stealing about ten cars, the case was however transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department after preliminary investigation and later referred to SARS for conclusive investigation.  ”The operatives of the Squad (SARS) has performed wonderfully well and their investigation has led to the recovery of nineteen vehicles and the arrest of another four members of the gang, so five members of the gang are presently in the custody of the Osun State Police Police Command” he said.

Mr Adeoye further stressed that the gang with a penchant for Toyota vehicles has been terrorizing Osogbo and it’s environs for a while now considering the speedy decline in car theft around Osogbo metropolis since their arrest on the 19th December 2017.

Expressing their gratitude, few owners of the recovered vehicles expressed their gratitude to the state command and prayed for continued success in all their investigations. The command also informed on efforts to reach out to other owners of the recovered vehicles.

Lastly, the Police Boss showered encomium on men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and presented them with gallantry awards.
