The Nigerian Air Force Board of Inquiry set up to investigate the fracas between its personnel and students of the University of Osun, which occurred on May 24, 2017, has submitted its report.
The board’s report indicted an Airman, who was allegedly fraternizing with cultists within the university, and was part of the fracas.
Air Force Spokesman, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya said in a statement that the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, has directed that appropriate charges be taken against the Airman, in compliance with the provisions of the Armed Forces Act.
The Air Chief also directed that necessary steps be taken towards mending the relationship between members of the University of Osun Community, and the Nigerian Air Force personnel in Ipetu Ijesha.
The statement says one of such steps will be the organization of a novelty football between members of both communities.
