The People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Osun State chapter has enjoined all Nigerians and particularly the dwellers and inhabitants as well as visitors to OSUN State to be security conscious in their respective areas and urged security agencies to beef up security in all strategic and vulnerable areas nauseous towards incident-free Christmas and New-year celebrations.
The party urged the people of the state and charged them to promote internal peace and security as the focal point of this Christmas Season, noting that insecurity has remained the most challenging of the nation’s problems over the past few years and therefore urged Nigerians to be more involved in the concerted efforts by government to tackle it.
The party noted that without the support and full cooperation of all Nigerians, Security agencies could do little or nothing and urged every Nigerian to be concerned about what happens around them, especially those related to the security of lives and property in their immediate communities.
The party identifies with the people at this period of economic recession and hardship and urged the people of OSUN state to be modest in celebration while putting in mind the needs of the coming year.
In a Christmas message, signed by the party chairman, Honourable Soji Adagunodo, he enjoined Christians to use this year’s celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to reflect on their behaviours and spiritual lives and pray for the development and prosperity of the nation and a rebirth of good fortunes in Osun state.
According to the chairman, Christmas reminds us of the need to be faithful to the Almighty God and live according to His dictates, especially in a world that has been seriously wounded by various vices. The party asked both Muslims and Christians to fervently pray for Nigeria at this trying time, especially the economic situation so that Nigeria will regain its pride of place in the comity of nations.
While thanking the people of the state for keeping hope with the people’s Democratic Party in its role as the opposition, he assured the people of credible alternative as the state draws closer to another gubernatorial election and assure them of doing all that is legally needful to salvage the state from its present state of ruins and take it to the height where it should be.
