Osun State Police Command on Tuesday took the #ChangeBeginsWithMe Campaign to major streets in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.
The campaign was part of efforts to effect attitudinal change among Nigerians.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Fimihan Adeoye led the officers and men of the command to different motor parks, markets and other strategic places in Osogbo to sensitize commercial drivers, market men and women and the passers-by.
The Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) in the state under the leadership of Comrade Amitolu Shitu also joined the police in the #ChangeBeginsWithMe rally in Osogbo.
CP Adeoye personally distributed leaflets containing messages such as “bail is free” written in different languages including Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba to people on the street and charged them to embrace positive change.
The leaflets also contained various telephone numbers: 08057000001, 08057000002, WhatsApp number: 08057000003, twitter account:
@PoliceNG_PCRRU, facebook account: www.facebook.com/policePCRRU as well as BBM: 58A2B5DE.
Addressing members of National Union Roads Transport Workers at the Ejigbo/Ogbomosho motor park located at Oke-Fia, the CP said police has established Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit to enable people to forward their complaint to the police authority.
CP Adeoye urged the commercial drivers to shun inimical behaviours such as smoking, drinking of alcohol among others.
He also advised them to obtain drivers’ license and other necessary documents for their vehicles and cautioned them against excessive-speeding on the road.
Members of NURTW commended the police for promoting the #ChangeBeginsWithMe campaign of the federal government and assured the CP that they would embrace the change mantra for a better and prosperous nation.
