The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, has felicitated a former Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and chieftain of the party, Rt. Hon. Akintunde Adegboye, on his 67th birthday.
Basiru, in a congratulatory message, described Hon. Adegboye as a core progressive who has remained steadfast as a founding member of the party in Osogbo and Osun State.
He described the celebrant as “a politician with some difference, a selfless and altruistic politician who stands by what he believes in and commits his resources to such a cause and course. A devout Muslim, gratified and spartan.”
The APC national scribe commended Adegboye for his commitment to the formation and nurturing of his political structure, The Alubarika Movement.
According to Basiru, besides being brothers from the same town, Adegboye has been a brotherly ally, “standing by him like a Rock of Gibraltar, their age gap notwithstanding.”
“Hon. Adegboye has never been a gerontocrat in his relationship with him. He stood by him in the formation of Alubarika Movement and is committed to watering and nurturing it to become a political force. He cannot be thankful enough or appreciate him for this,” the statement read.
Dr. Basiru noted that Hon. Adegboye is one of the few progressive politicians who still upholds the ideals and philosophy of party politics.
He congratulated him on the auspicious occasion and wished him more prosperous years ahead.
