Oluwo hails improved power supply, commends Tinubu

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the improvement in electricity supply across the country.

The monarch said he has witnessed uninterrupted power supply since he returned from his vacation days ago.

Oba Akanbi also commended the Minister of Power, Hon. Olasunkanmi Tegbe, for restoring sanity to the power sector.

He said the stable electricity supply will attract investors and boost the nation’s economy.

The Oluwo, in a statement issued through his Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, said the stable power supply currently being enjoyed by Nigerians is commendable.

“The stable power supply currently enjoyed by Nigerians is commendable. I specially commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for restoring sanity to Nigeria’s power sector,” the statement read.

“I extend the commendation to the Honourable Minister of Power, Hon. Olasunkanmi Tegbe. I call for the sustenance of the improved tempo of electricity supply and express strong hope that the breakthrough will attract investors that will boost Nigeria’s economic strength.”

The monarch said he has enjoyed at least 20 hours of power supply daily since his return.

“I am glad that Nigeria is replicating the stable electricity supply we used to enjoy in advanced countries. I just returned from a month-long vacation and noticed a commendable improvement in Nigeria’s power sector. Since my return two days ago, I have been enjoying at least 20 hours per day power supply. I have not bought a single litre of diesel. I am seeing the Nigeria of my dream. This is a commendable breakthrough,” he said.

According to him, business owners who depend on electricity are the greatest beneficiaries of the improved supply.

“The businessmen and women who depend on electricity are at greatest advantage. Investors will be motivated to come and invest heavily in Nigeria and will ultimately promote the economic strength of our dear nation.

“The downtrodden Nigerians whose businesses depend heavily on electricity will rebound economically. There are many of them in Iwo here. Petty traders such as fish sellers, welders, cold drink sellers, barbers, etc. are smiling. It is a great relief from economic hardship associated with inadequate power supply. Their businesses are booming, blossoming, and prospering. The electricity stability will restore the economic sanctity of Nigeria and place the majority of Nigerians on a sustainable path of prosperity,” Oluwo stated.

He urged Nigerians to be disciplined in power management.

“I call on Nigerians to be self-disciplined in power management. Electricity is a commodity you pay for. Every household must ensure the preservation of electricity by switching off gadgets connected to public power when not in use,” he added.
