The Accord Party candidate for Osun East Senatorial District, Ibukun Fadipe, has taken a swipe at the incumbent senator representing the district, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, saying the lawmaker achieved little in his eight years at the National Assembly.
Fadipe stated this while addressing his supporters in a video posted on Facebook by one of his aides.
The former Osun State Universal Basic Education Board chairman noted that the district needs a grassroots-oriented representative who understands the needs of the constituents.
According to him, the performance of Senator Lere Oyewumi in Osun West within four years is clear evidence that effective representation is possible.
“Akogun Lere Oyewumi has done a lot in four years, and I believe God will use me to bring more dividends of democracy to Osun East,” he said.
He challenged Senator Fadahunsi to make public the records of jobs he claimed to have facilitated for Osun youths.
“When I heard that Senator Fadahunsi claimed to be the lawmaker who facilitated the most jobs for Osun youths, I challenged him to come out with the records. Since then, he has not responded,” Fadipe said.
He added that facilitating employment for graduates should not be celebrated as a major achievement.
“It is even sad that he is counting facilitating jobs for graduates as an achievement. That is the right of everyone who goes to school,” he said.
