The Osun State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
The suspects are Afeez Arole, 30, Salami Wahab Idowu, 49, Akanmu Afeez, 37, and Adebisi Taofeek, 47.
The Command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, said a complainant reported that his shop at Oja-Oba, Osogbo, was burgled on September 1, 2026, and different types of mobile phones valued at about N5 million were stolen.
Ojelabi said, “On 22nd September 2026, at about 1830hrs, credible information was received that some suspected hoodlums were sighted within the Oja-Oba area of Osogbo and following intelligence-led surveillance and investigation, Police operatives raided the suspected hideout of the alleged perpetrators, leading to the arrest of four suspects mentioned above.”
Items recovered from the suspects include two Itel mobile phones, which were subsequently identified by the complainant as part of the phones stolen from his shop.
The police spokesperson said the suspects have made statements in connection with the offence, adding that investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances and their level of involvement.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura, has directed the investigating team to intensify efforts to uncover other members of the criminal network and recover other stolen items.
