Traditional rulers from rural communities in Osun State have congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, saying the victory was as an endorsement of his performance in office.
The monarchs, under the aegis of Network of Kings from Osun Countrysides, said the victory was a clear statement from the people of Osun validating an administration anchored on empathy and development.
The congratulatory statement was jointly signed by the group’s President, HRM Oba Dr. Ojarotade Adewale, Alaa of Ilaa Ijesa, and Chairman, Board of Trustees, HRM Oba Prof. Adekunle Okunoye Adedeji, Eburu of Iba Land.
The statement noted that Adeleke’s first term witnessed massive road construction and rehabilitation, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, renovation of schools and healthcare centres, and empowerment programmes for youths, women and farmers.
The monarchs, however, presented an agenda for the second term, urging the government to prioritise rural infrastructure, including tarred roads to farm settlements and regular grading of feeder roads.
They also called for modern health centres in rural areas, upgraded classrooms in village schools, improved welfare and security for traditional rulers, and regular town hall engagements between the governor and monarchs.
