Factional chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Osun State, Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba, has announced his return to the union’s headquarters in Osogbo as chairman.
Oyewale announced his return in a video posted on his Facebook page on Saturday, where he was seen with some of his supporters at the union’s secretariat, declaring himself back in charge.
The announcement comes days after Governor Ademola Adeleke proscribed the activities of the NURTW in the state.
Governor Adeleke announced the proscription on Sunday following the killing of Mr Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir, who was shot dead in Ile-Ife by suspected hoodlums during a clash over the control of a garage.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor directed the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest all those involved in the killing and bring them to book.
The governor also ordered the immediate vacation of all motor parks by warring factions and directed security agencies to restore normalcy and ensure law and order across parks in the state.
