The Diocesan Bishop of Ijesa North Anglican Diocese, Rt. Revd Isaac Oluyamo, has appealed to politicians in Osun State not to allow political differences to become permanent sources of hatred and division.
Bishop Oluyamo, who made the call in a statement obtained in Osogbo on Friday, prayed for healing of wounded relationships, reconciliation within families and restoration of broken friendships, appealed to individuals and families to put the disagreements that trailed the last governorship election behind them.
He charged the people to bury every bitterness and embrace reconciliation, while also praying against accidents, sudden death, calamities and all forms of tragedy in the state.
The Bishop, while congratulating Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the August 15 governorship poll, urged him to put God first in managing the affairs of the state.
“Moving beyond politics, I appeal to individuals and families to put the last elections behind them, bury every bitterness and embrace reconciliation, forgiveness and peace. Elections will come and go, but relationships, families, communities and the bonds of brotherhood must endure.
“I call on everyone who may have been divided by political differences not to allow temporary political contests to become permanent sources of hatred or separation,” he said.
