Osun Police CP launches Safe School initiative

As part of efforts to strengthen security in schools and deepen collaboration with stakeholders, the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, Ibrahim Zungura, has launched the Safe School Initiative in the state.

CP Zungura launched the initiative on Friday during a courtesy visit by the national chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, and other critical stakeholders to the Command Headquarters in Osogbo.

A statement by the command spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, said the Safe School Initiative is aimed at strengthening collaboration among the Police, PCRC and other stakeholders towards creating a safer and more secure learning environment for pupils and students across Osun State.

Speaking during the engagement, the CP appreciated the PCRC leadership and other stakeholders for their support and commitment to strengthening police-community relations.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustained partnership with relevant stakeholders in promoting peace, security and safety across the state.

As part of the visit, the PCRC Osun State Chapter also presented a professional camera to the Osun State Police Command to support effective communication, documentation and police-public relations.
