The Federal Government on Thursday flagged off a 241-unit Site and Service housing scheme on 33 hectares of land in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
The project, which was in partnership with Summit Group Ltd, according to the Executive Director, Estate Services, Federal Housing Authority, Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok, would deliver residential plots alongside commercial, institutional and recreational facilities designed to create a self-sustaining community.
Nya-Etok disclosed that the development reflects the federal government’s renewed commitment to bridging Nigeria’s housing deficit through public-private partnerships.
He said, “This project is guided by President Bola Tinubu’s directive to be bold, accountable and results-driven in addressing housing challenges.
“Government alone cannot bridge this gap. Our collaboration with Summit Group Ltd exemplifies the shared-risk, shared-value approach that produces faster delivery, higher quality outcomes, and greater value for both citizens and investors”.
According to Nya-Etok, the estate will include commercial plots, institutional facilities such as a police station, clinic, church and mosque, as well as a shopping mall, hotels, sports and recreational areas, energy station, water treatment plant, and spaces for subsidiaries.
