Salaam speaks after Osun gov poll, alleges betrayal by supporters

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, gubernatorial candidate in the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, Dr Najeem Salaam, has attributed the outcome of the poll to the will of God.

The former Speaker of the state House of Assembly spoke in a video and said he joined the race to improve the living conditions of Osun people.

“The August 15 Governorship election went as Almighty God wanted it to be. I never disappointed my supporters or collected money from any politician to work for any opposition party,” Dr Salaam said.

He maintained that his ambition was driven by service and not personal gain.

“I contested the governorship election to better the lives of the people. I did not betray any of my supporters. However, most of my supporters betrayed me,” he added.
