Accord accuses Osun APC of ‘false flag’ attacks

The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has alerted the Inspector General of Police and other security agencies, alleging a fresh attempt by the Osun APC to stage “gangster attacks” on residents and blame Accord members for the violence.

The state chairman of the party, Pastor Victor Akande, in a statement on Sunday, said the APC was working to frustrate the IGP’s directive for peace ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Akande alleged that on Saturday, the APC arranged an attack on a resident in Osogbo who was later pressured to implicate the Accord Party.

Akande denied Accord’s involvement in any attack and alleged that the opposition planned to put Accord fez caps and symbols on its operatives to implicate the party.

“We alerted the police to this development two weeks ago, but no action was taken,” he said.

The party expressed concern that alleged APC political hoodlums were still moving around fully armed despite the IGP’s directives issued through the Deputy Inspector General of Police.

It said that despite reported killings and shootings in the state, the police had yet to arrest any perpetrators.
