Governor Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday, launched his re-election campaign, declaring that he will secure a second term on August 15.
Speaking at the programme, the governor said all legal steps were being taken to ensure the Accord Party’s presence on the ballot and to protect the voting rights of residents.
He charged supporters to mobilise across all voting units and ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming election.
“Go out to all voting units, mobilise for the Accord. Our party remains a duly registered political party in this country,” he said.
The governor said he was encouraged by the show of support, assuring new members of equal opportunities within the party structure.
“I have watched and listened to the many associations and groups that have endorsed my re-election today. I also welcome leaders and members of various groups that defected to Accord. I am indeed overwhelmed with joy and happiness,” Adeleke stated.
Reviewing his first term, the governor said, “I diligently delivered on my electoral promises. I have been faithful to the delivery of good governance in our dear state,” he said.
Adeleke listed key achievements, including the payment of inherited half salary debts, cancellation of pension arrears, rehabilitation of schools, and upgrading of towns across the state.
He added that his administration had also recorded improvements in the health sector, commenced construction of a new stadium, and carried out reforms in water supply.
The governor said his government was investing further in agriculture, digital economy, budget transparency, and climate action to strengthen Osun’s economy.
If re-elected, Adeleke said he would run on an updated five-point agenda focused on consolidating gains.
“Today, we are seeking a fresh mandate under an updated five-point agenda. I promise faithful implementation of the agenda after our victory on August 15th,” he promised.
