June 12: Oyebamiji hails Tinubu, faults Adeleke on revenue use, pledges new direction for Osun

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “one of the most consequential figures in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.”

In a statement signed by Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, Head of Media and Publicity, Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Oyebamiji commended the President’s courage during the military dictatorship and his continued dedication to building a stronger Nigeria.

He congratulated Tinubu on Democracy Day and prayed that God would continue to strengthen him in service to the nation.

Oyebamiji, however, expressed concern that despite the Federal Government’s fiscal reforms, which improved allocations to states, “the Osun State Government under Senator Ademola Adeleke has failed to demonstrate that the welfare of the people remains its foremost priority.”

He said the administration has received “close to N1 trillion in revenue since assumption of office”, yet struggled to fulfil campaign promises.

“It is saddening that after sacking 1500 teachers and over 500 health workers employed by the last APC government, the current government has not deemed it fit to recruit for their replacement in over 40 months,” he said, noting Osun now has the lowest number of teachers in the Southwest and the second highest number of abandoned health centres nationally.

The APC candidate pledged a new direction if elected and promised a comprehensive infrastructure renewal programme anchored on quality, competence and equitable development across all parts of the state.

He said his administration would reactivate the Aviation City Project in Ido-Osun to unlock investments and jobs.
