Obokun people will vote Adeleke, only 50 defected with Oke – Irekandu

The lawmaker representing Obokun state constituency, Hon Adewunmi Adeyemi, has said only 50 people followed the Director General of the All Progressives Congress governorship campaign council, Hon. Wole Oke, when he defected to the opposition party from the Peoples Democratic Party.

The lawmaker stated this on Thursday when he appeared on a private TV programme in Osogbo.

Adeyemi also said the people of Obokun will re-elect Governor Ademola Adeleke because of the good work he has done in the area.

He said, “Obokun is for ‘Imole’ because of what the governor has done for the people there. If the governor has not done anything, as their representative, I won’t be able to come out as I did.

“The Director General of the opposition party is just one person which means one vote. The total number of people who defected with Wole Oke is 50.

“Nobody is the landlord. The people are the landlord. In a democratic setting, as a leader, you can’t refer to yourself as a landlord because the people are the ones who get you elected. It is not about you but about those who elected you.”
