I won’t betray your trust if elected, Oyebamiji tells residents

Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun, says he will not betray the trust of residents if elected.

Oyebamiji spoke on Sunday during an engagement with members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors in Osogbo.

He was represented by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, chairman of the civic engagement of the APC campaign council.

The APC candidate said his seven-point agenda, unveiled on Friday under the theme “Prosperity”, would be implemented if voted into office.

According to him, the programme was designed to address the needs of residents and reposition the state for greater development.

He said the agenda focuses on poverty alleviation, workers’ welfare, job creation, transparency, economic growth, security, education, and renewed investment in infrastructure.

“I want to assure you again that I will not betray your trust if you give me your votes. I am contesting to serve you with all my strength, and I will not disappoint you,” he said.

“My newly unveiled seven-point agenda was carefully crafted for implementation when I am elected, and it will drive the growth of the state. Trust me with your votes, and I will keep my promise.”

Oyebamiji also promised support for artisans and small businesses, saying tailors contribute significantly to the state’s economy.

“You are men and women of high calibre. Your contributions to the growth of the state’s economy through your skills cannot be overlooked,” he said.

“A major part of the seven pillars of our action plans focuses on opportunities for economic growth and support programmes for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This will be fully implemented to strengthen your businesses.”

He urged voters to ignore what he described as attacks from opposition parties, adding that his manifesto had unsettled political rivals.

“Since I unveiled my action plans, members and leaders of the opposition have been feeling the heat. They are quite intimidated and confused,” he said.

“I put my trust in God Almighty and you. I am certain our action plans will reposition the state when I am elected.”

Rasheed Balogun, chairman of the association, commended Oyebamiji for what he described as his sincerity and passion to serve the people.

Balogun said he became familiar with the APC candidate during his tenure as commissioner for finance, adding that the group was recognised through the office of civic engagement during that period.

He pledged the support of members of the association, saying, “We are for you.”
