Osun APC campaign council accuses Adeleke of squandering over N1 Trillion in three years

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of mismanagement of public resources, alleging that over N1 trillion in revenue has been squandered in less than three years without commensurate development across Ọsun State.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the APC Governorship Campaign Council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, made this known in a statement on Monday in Osogbo.

Omowaiye disclosed that while the state has enjoyed unprecedented revenue inflow, the Adeleke administration has little to show for it, accusing the government of prioritising frivolities over meaningful development.

He further accused the administration of concealing vital financial information from the public, particularly the reported N57.6 billion debt cancellation granted to the state by the Federal Government.

“The people of Ọsun deserve transparency. It is unacceptable that such a huge financial relief is being hidden from public scrutiny by a government that claims to be accountable,” he stated.

Omowaiye noted that the governorship candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), represents a clear alternative with a vision anchored on responsible governance and people-oriented policies.

According to him, an Oyebamiji administration will focus on critical sectors such as agriculture, education, health, transportation and power generation. He explained that with the recent decentralisation of electricity generation and distribution by the National Assembly, state governments now have the constitutional backing to generate and improve electricity supply within their domains.

“This is a major opportunity that Oyebamiji will leverage to transform Ọsun’s power sector, stimulate industrial growth and improve the quality of life of our people,” he said.
