Osun NSCDC seeks help to identify family of hearing, speech-impaired teenage girl

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has called for assistance in identifying a hearing and speech-impaired teenage girl found wandering on the streets of Osogbo.

The Osun NSCDC said the identity of the girl remained unknown, as she could neither hear nor speak.

It subsequently called on residents of the state to volunteer information that would lead to reuniting the girl with her family.

The command’s spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, in a statement on Saturday, said, “The minor, estimated to be between the ages of 15 and 16, was found by concerned members of the public along Odi-Olowo, in Osogbo, Osun State.

“She was subsequently brought to the NSCDC office for safety. Preliminary observations indicate that the girl is unable to speak and hear and she has not been able to provide any useful information regarding her identity, family or place of residence.

“The Command under the leadership of Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo, is therefore appealing to members of the public who may have any information that could assist in identifying the girl or locating her family to kindly come forward.”

The statement added, “Parents, guardians, or relatives who may be searching for a missing child matching this description are also urged to contact the Command, along Iwo-Ibadan Road, Onibueja, Ido-Osun, Osun State.”
