LG Allocation: JUSUN condemns Osun APC council chairmen’s protest at the High Court

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria in Osun State (JUSUN), has condemned the protest by the chairman and councillors elected under the All Progressives Congress in the state.

It would be recalled that APC council officials protested at the main gate of the state High Court on Wednesday over the trial of United Bank of Africa and its staff on the local government allocations.

However, the chairman of JUSUN in Osun, Idris Adeniran, in a statement on Wednesday evening, stated that the protest was an attempt to disparage a magistrate and a development that could lead to anarchy.

He declared that the union remains apolitical and not aligned with any political party, warning against attempts to drag the judiciary into partisan activities.

Adeniran said the union would resist any move by political actors to use the judiciary as a tool for propaganda.

He stressed that JUSUN is committed to preserving the sanctity of the judiciary and will not tolerate undue interference in its operations.

“The union will take all necessary legal and industrial actions to safeguard judges and magistrates from any form of harassment.

“Our attention has been drawn to a staged protest by a group of purported local government chairmen and councillors affiliated with a well-known political party in the state,” he said.
