The Osun State Police Command on Monday organised free medical screening for over 100 residents of Osogbo and its environs to commemorate Police Day.
Families of deceased and serving police personnel benefitted from the medical screening which was held at Nelson Mandela freedom park, Osogbo.
Aside the free medical screening, personnel of the command also engaged in street sanitation exercise
The state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, in a statement obtained on Monday in Osogbo, said the programmes wasbin line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
Gotan noted that the objective programmes was to give back to society and strengthen collaboration between the Police and the people of Osun.
He said, “the activities has commenced today Monday, 30th March 2026 with sanitation and cleaning within the metro focusing on the theme of the celebration.
“Also, the Command’s Directorate of Medical Services is conducting a free medical outreach for members of the public, including families of deceased and serving police personnel, at the Freedom Park, Old garage area, Osogbo.”
The Osun Police boss said he would lead officers of the command on a walkathon within Osun metropolis on Tuesday, adding that, “Area Commanders outside the metropolis will conduct similar exercises within their respective jurisdictions.”
Gotan also said the command would hold a public sensitization campaigns on electoral violence, ballot snatching, safe driving practices and compliance with traffic regulations across major motor parks and residential areas on Wednesday, April 01, 20026.
