The lawmaker representing Iwo State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adesina Atanda Rabiu, has withdrawn the letter of his official resignation from the Accord Party.
The lawmaker had earlier in a letter announced his defection from the Accord Party.
In the letter addressed to the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun, the lawmaker expressed appreciation for the leadership of the 8th Assembly and the party.
Although the letter was not dated or signed, Rabiu described the Speaker as a “distinguished leader” and commended his “visionary leadership and unwavering commitment” to both the Assembly and the Accord Party.
He, however, stated that his decision to leave the party was personal, adding that he would prefer to keep the reasons undisclosed.
“I hereby tender my resignation from the Accord Party, effective immediately. This decision is personal, and I’d like to keep the reasons to myself,” the letter read.
But in a video posted hours after the letter surfaced, the lawmaker who confirmed the letter, announced that he had withdrawn it.
