Former speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello on Wednesday, resumed duty as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Bello was welcomed into the school by members of the management team led by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Bamire.
The former Nigeria ambassador to Mexico was warmly received at the Pro-Chancellor’s Lodge before he proceeded straight into the council meeting.
osun.life report that Bello was appointed as the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council by President Bola Tinubu, effective from March 10th, 2026.
Bello who hails from Ede was appointed to the position following the death of the former Pro-Chancellor, Professor Siyan Oyeweso who died on December 02 at the age of 64 after a brief illness.
