Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has declared that its leadership has no anointed candidates for the elective posts in the 2027 general elections.
The party stated this on Monday in a statement signed and made available by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi.
The party subsequently cautioned its members to desist from actions and inactions capable of rocking the prevailing peace in the party few months to the governorship election in the state.
It stated that it was “wrong for some elements to be spewing falsehoods from the corners of their rooms, depicting that the leadership of the party has anointed some candidates for the National and House of Assembly elections coming up in 2027.
“There is no iota of truth in such propagation of falsehoods as there was nowhere either in the past or present that any meeting on such an agenda was discussed,” the statement noted.
The party appealed to its members and supporters to discountenance the “misinformation and disinformation and consign same to the dustbin of information as it still remains within the realm of rumour.”
The statement added, “What should preoccupy the minds of anyone who calls himself a worthy and dedicated member of our party now should be the concerted efforts to collectively work assiduously for the victory of our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and his running mate, Aare(Engr) Benjamin Kayode Adereti, in the forthcoming governorship election.”
