Police arraign 3 for stealing motorcycle in Osun

Osun State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned three persons for stealing a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number: EJG545QD valued at one hundred and thirty thousand naira (N130,000), belonging to one Olawoye Idowu.

The accused persons, Gafaru Ahmed (23), Sunday Ayodele (19) and Wasiu Olaniyi (20) were said to have committed the crime on 12th of October 2016 at Adumu area, Oja-Oba, Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

The police prosecutor, Sergeant Olayiwola Rasaq told the court that the accused persons committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal Code, Cap 34. Vol. II.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the offence levelled against them by the police and their counsel, Mr Adedokun Tunde, urged the court to release his clients on bail.

In his ruling, Magistrate Olusola Aluko released each accused person on bail with a sum of fifty thousand naira (N50,000) with two sureties who have tax clearance and must be a civil servant in this state.

The case has been adjourned till 7th of December 2016.
