Senator Felix Ogunwale resigns as Asiwaju of Iragbiji

A former Senator who represented Osun Central Senatorial District, Felix Kola Ogunwale, has resigned from his position as Asiwaju of Iragbiji land.

This was as the Palace of the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland acknowledged and accepted Ogunwale’s
resignation.

A statement signed by the Aragbiji palace media office on Saturday, noted that Ogunwale in a letter addressed to the Palace, communicated his decision to step down from the revered honorary title.

The title was conferred on the former lawmaker by the late Aragbiji, HRM Oba Timothy Adepoju Oyelade, about three decades ago.

The statement noted that the resignation letter, dated March 3, 2026, was addressed to Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi.

“Following the receipt of the letter, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, Asoludero, the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland, graciously accepted the resignation.

“The monarch expressed appreciation to Senator Ogunwale for his service, support, and contributions to the growth and development of Iragbijiland during the period he held the position,” the statement added.
