Ruling Houses get US court’s CTC of jailed Osun monarch

The two ruling houses in Ipetumodu, Osun State, have obtained the Certified True Copy of the judgment which sentenced Apetu of Ipetumodu, Oba Joseph Oloyede, to five years’ jail term over fraud.

It would be recalled that Oba Oloyede, was sentenced to 56 months in prison by a the United States of America, Northern District of Ohio Court.

U.S. District Judge Christopher A. Boyko, who gave the sentence, also ordered the monarch to serve three years of supervised release and pay $4,408,543.38 in restitution.

According to the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio, the monarch forfeited his Medina, Ohio, home, purchased with proceeds of the scheme, and an additional $96,006.89 traced to fraud.

He was convicted of leading a conspiracy to exploit COVID-19 emergency loan programmes designed to assist struggling small businesses.

Almost six months later, the ruling houses have successfully applied and received the CTC of the judgment.

The CTC signed by the Deputy Clerk of the court was made available to the Punch on Monday.

On the next line of action, Ayoola said the representative of the ruling houses would meet the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, any moment from now.

Ayoola further explained that the meeting with the governor is being facilitated by the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, who he said, had prevailed on the ruling houses to shelve their proposed protest and meet the governor to discuss the way forward on the vacant stool of Apetumodu.

“We requested the CTC in a letter signed by Prince Taiwo Ayoola on November 4, 2025, addressed to the clerk of the court and we got the documents last week.

“Through the intervention of the state Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Gotan, we shelved the proposed peaceful protest over the delay to fill the vacant stool of Apetumodu.

“It was the CP that prevailed on the ruling houses not to protest and he is the one facilitating our meeting with the governor. The meeting is to be held this week, subject to the availability of Governor Adeleke,” Ayoola further said.
