The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, on Saturday, inaugurated the six-member advisory committee and twenty-one-member advisory team to join him in driving the industrialisation of Ijesaland.
The monarch while addressing the team shortly after swearing to the oath of allegiance, stated that Ijesaland cannot afford to merely boast about its past glory, hence the necessity for reinvigorating its economic transformation.
Owa Adesuyi said the Ijesa indigenes were selected for their distinguished backgrounds, notably their significant contributions to the construction of the new ultramodern Owa’s palace and Ijesa Geriatric Hospital, as well as their intervention in the sustenance of Leventist Agricultural School through student sponsorships.
He commended the level of dedication displayed by the patriotic elites, whose selfless endeavours have repositioned Ijesaland among the Yoruba cities and towns, urging them not to rest on their laurels.
Responding, Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, described the selection of members as a noble call to serve their homeland.
Asiwaju Fasuyi extended congratulations to the Ijesa people on the selection of Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup as the paramount ruler, highlighting his exceptional love and passion for the land’s development.
He stated that the only way to reciprocate this commitment is for individuals to participate in the Ijesaland Development Fund initiative, which prioritises accelerated growth, with a focus on Owa Ajimoko III’s Agricultural projects.
