The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu will Thursday, visit the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, to officially commission and handover fifty (50) buses and ten (10) tricycles that she donated to the institution.
The first lady will during the visit, also commission the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Dream Centre by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
A statement by the Registrar and Secretary to the institution Council, K. Bakare, informed members of the university community that enhanced security arrangements and access control measures would be in place across the campus for the duration of the visit.
The statement, urged staff and students to cooperate fully with security personnel, comply strictly with all official directives, and conduct themselves with utmost decorum.
The statement read, “The University community is hereby informed of the official visit of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, to the University campus on Thursday, 29th January, 2026.
“The visit is to witness the official commissioning and handover of fifty (50) buses and ten (10) tricycles generously donated by Her Excellency, as well as the official commissioning and handover of the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Dream Centre by His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife.
“Members of the University community are therefore informed that enhanced security arrangements and access control measures will be in place across the campus for the duration of the visit. Consequently, Staff and students are enjoined to cooperate fully with security personnel, comply strictly with all official directives, and conduct themselves with utmost decorum.
“Further information on movement and programme arrangements will be communicated as appropriate. All members of the University community are invited to accord Her Excellency and other distinguished guests a warm reception befitting their exalted offices.”
