Netizens have countered the claim of Alabama Akinleye, an aide to the Osun State Governor, who said the lawmaker representing Ife Federal Constituency, Hon. Taofeeq Ajilesoro cannot win an election without the support of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Akinleye had in a Facebook post, said that Ife people would not vote for any candidate of the All Progressives Congress, suggesting that Ajilesoro who decamped to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party in 2025 has ended his political career.
He wrote, “I trust my Ife people, they can never vote for APC especially with what Oyetola did to Omisore and two other contestants. Ajilesoro has ended his political journey so far he has defected to the APC.
“The mantra in Ife currently to him is if he has exhausted the money he collected to defect to APC. Ask an average person on the street of lfe and Osun generally, they will tell you they are voting for Adeleke.”
However, some netizens who responded to the post countered Akinleye’s claim, noting that the lawmaker has been winning politically without Governor Adeleke.
A Facebook user, Sheriff Fawole, wrote, “Ajilesoro has been in the house since 2019 so stop writing jargon here . The likes of Senator Francis Fadahunsi, Olawole Oke and Ajilesoro are people that have been winning elections on their own.”
Corroborating Fawole, another Facebook user, Oladimeji Akinyele, wrote, “For your information and better understanding, Ajilesoro never rode on Adeleke to became member of House of Representatives at all.
“Ife Federal Constituency intentionally voted for star boy because of his performance. And also became House of Representatives member before Governor Ademola Adeleke got to office in 2022.
“Hon Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro already in the Green Chamber as at 2019. Never talked of Governor Ademola Adeleke helped him to get to National Assembly at all.”
