The member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Wole Oke, has alleged that the Osun State Government frustrated his plans to recruit about 700 part-time teachers into public schools in his constituency.
Oke made the allegation in a statement posted on his Facebook page.
The lawmaker said the process to recruit the teachers which was set after several weeks was abruptly halted by the Osun State Government.
“My effort to employ 700 hundred teachers in both our Primary and Secondary schools in Obokun/Oriade was blocked by the Government of Governor Adeleke,” the lawmaker alleges.
But the State Government denied the allegation, noting that Oke was using the allegation to score cheap political points.
The state Commissioner for Education, Mr Dipo Eluwole, said nothing of such occurred in public schools in the two local government areas mentioned.
