The candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun State, Engr Olufemi Adesuyi, has said that he will declare a state of emergency in the Agricultural sector if elected.
osun.life reports that the Osun State governorship election is scheduled to take place on August 08.
Adesuyi, while speaking with newsmen on Saturday in Osogbo, scored the current administration low in the area of Agriculture.
The ZLP candidate claimed that the tractors purchased by the state government were not feasible across the various local governments.
He said, “In the agricultural sector, we are going to declare a state of emergency. We promised to create 50,000 jobs. We are going to introduce mechanised farming, we will introduce power tractors that are much cheaper and will be available in hundreds across the local governments. This will boost our crop production.
“A serious government will crash food prices in six months at most. Nothing has happened in three years of this administration. All we saw was a roadshow of tractors.”
