By Tunde Olamilekan

Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East at the National Assembly, has disclosed that the National Universities Commission has given a significant nod for the establishment of the proposed Obokun University, Ilase-Ijesa.

He stated this when he hosted Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Owa Adesuyi Haastrup at the site of the proposed university.

Fadahunsi, in a post on his official Facebook page, said the university would add value to the people of Ijesaland and the entire Osun state.

“I am glad to report that the NUC has given a significant nod, and we are optimistic that the final approval will be communicated soon.

“His majesty was so elated that he didn’t ride in his car to tour the school but walked through to inspect the facilities. Kabiesi was so happy that he prayed for a ceaseless flow of finance and divine acceleration for the project.

“I must use this opportunity to say a big thank you to Baba Owa and his wonderful Olori, thank you so much, we really appreciate you, sir.

“I also want to thank the Alademore of Ibokun and the royal host, the Alase of Ilase, and all traditional rulers and Baales who were present to share in the happiness,” the lawmaker added.
