Wife of the Osun State Governor, Amb. Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke has welcomed the ‘first baby of 2026’ born in Osun State as the most precious gift from God for the new year.

Fondly called ‘Mama Triplet’ for her affection toward mothers and her initiatives to reduce maternal and child mortality in Osun State, Her Excellency received the news with great joy.

The baby was born at exactly 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the Osun Teaching Hospital Cottage in Ede, to the family of Mr Abdulrasheed Yisa and Mrs Rukayat Yisa. Erelu Adeleke described the birth as a joyful and symbolic start to the new year in Osun State.

She reaffirmed her commitment: “I will continue to reward mothers and families who bring such blessings to Osun State.

“As per tradition, Her Excellency presented cash gifts and essential baby items to the family.
