The chairman of Boripe Local Government elected under the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Sikiru Odebumi, has approved the payment of ten months’ salary arrears to casual workers employed by the council.
According to a statement by the media unit, office of the Chairman, the announcement was made by Odebumi during a meeting with the casual workers at the council secretariat.
The statement said the Chairman urged the workers to remain committed to their duties, assuring them that the administration is working tirelessly to improve their welfare.
The Vice Chairman of the council, Fabunmi Sunday, and Councillor representing ward 2, Iragbiji, Akeem Olaore, also appealed to the workers to continue supporting the APC administration.
The statement added that Mr Okunola Olaitan, who spoke on behalf of the casual workers, expressed gratitude to the council leadership for the payment of their arrears and pledged to continue rendering quality service to the local government.
