Osun JUSUN temporarily suspends strike

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, Osun State Branch, has announced the temporary suspension of its ongoing industrial action.

A statement by Osun JUSUN Chairman, Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran, said the suspension followed progress in resolving the dispute with the state judiciary management.

The statement said the suspension was approved by the National Secretariat of JUSUN, led by the National President, Comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu, after consultations on developments recorded in negotiations between the union and relevant authorities.

Adeniran also disclosed that the decision was unanimously endorsed by members at a congress held at the High Court premises in Osogbo on Monday, December 15, 2025.

“The strike, which began on September 19, 2025, will be suspended with effect from December 16, 2025, to allow members to participate in scheduled activities of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

“The suspension would enable affected workers to appear before the JSC for the 2024 promotion exercise and also allow the management of the three arms of the Osun State Judiciary to submit the list of officers due for promotion in 2025.

“The suspension will take effect from December 16, 2025, to enable members to appear before the Judicial Service Commission for the 2024 promotion exercise,” the statement said.

The statement added that eligible officers for the 2025 promotion exercise had been directed to appear before the JSC on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, in line with the Commission’s schedule.

The JUSUN chairman emphasised that the suspension of the industrial action was temporary, explaining that it was intended to give room for the judiciary management to address outstanding issues and clear the backlog of work in courts across the state.
