Gani Adams visits Olufon, calls for collective effort in securing Southwest

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has said the issue of security in the Southwest should be a collective effort.

Adams stated this on Friday at the palace of Olufon of Ifon-Osun, Oba Peter Ipadeola.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the monarch, Akeeb Yusuf, explained that Adams was at the palace to appreciate the Olufon for honouring his invitation to the 2025 Olókun World Festival in Badagry, discuss pressing national security concerns, and to explore collaborative support for the forthcoming Obatala World Festival.

The statement noted that Adams during the visit, stressed that safeguarding lives and property must be a shared duty.

“Kabiyesi, your presence in Badagry was a great honour to our heritage and to the Olokun Festival Foundation. You dignified the event with your royalty and reaffirmed your commitment to the cultural rebirth of Yorubaland.”

“The security of Yorubaland is our collective responsibility,” the statement quoted the Aare Ona Kakanfo as saying.

In his response, Olufon who welcomed the Aare Ona Kakanfo, praised him for his tireless efforts toward ensuring the safety and preservation of Yorubaland.

“Aare, your commitment to the peace, unity, and security of our land is commendable and appreciated,” Kabiyesi said.
