A gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Senator Mudashiru Husain, has criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke over his prolonged absence in the state.
osun.life reports that Governor Adeleke jetted out of the state over a month ago, with his absence already generating questions from some quarters.
In a statement from his media office, Hussain accused Adeleke of failing in his constitutional duty as the Chief Security Officer of the state.
He described Adeleke’s absence as “nonchalant and grossly irresponsible”, noting that leadership is most needed when the citizens feel vulnerable.
“Instead of coordinating security responses, engaging community stakeholders, or providing reassurance to the populace, the governor has been preoccupied with ‘irrelevant engagements’ beyond the state’s borders,” the statement noted.
The APC gubernatorial aspirant further stated that Adeleke’s perceived lack of seriousness was consistent with what he called a “pattern of incompetence” already reflected in the administration’s three-year record.
Husain argued that the three years of the Adeleke administration have “set Osun back significantly,” reiterating that residents are increasingly finding the state of governance distasteful and unimpressive.
