Your three years in office a waste, Osun APC chieftain tells Adeleke

•As group organises rally for Oyebamiji in Iwo

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Ambassador Abdul Yekeen Abilagbo, has described Governor Ademola Adeleke’s three years in office as a waste.

Abilagbo who was a former Osun State Chairman of the Federal Government Special Public Works Selection Committee, said despite the huge federal allocations coming to the state, the present administration has failed in all sectors.

He stated this on Wednesday during a rally organised by the Earliest Ilerioluwa APC caucus in Iwo to support the governorship aspiration of the former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, Bola Oyebamiji.

Abilagbo, who said Osun has been unlucky for the past three years of governor Adeleke, noted that electorates must unite to vote out the governor in the forthcoming August 08, 2026, election.

He said, “Osun has been particularly unlucky for the past three years. There is totally no governance whatsoever. Is this how we are going to continue?

“Nothing to show for all the money that is coming to the state which is six times more than what was coming in during the previous administration.

“But we have not seen anything on the ground to justify the huge amount of money coming in. So, we feel that we have to join hands together to rescue this state from the current administration.”

Speaking further, Abilagbo said Oyebamiji’s experience and expertise make him the best choice for the APC gubernatorial ticket, adding that he is the man to move Osun forward.

“Bola Oyebamiji has shown that he has the capacity to lead this state to prosperity. He was a former Commissioner for Finance under two administrations and he did exceptionally well.

“He was also appointed by the Federal Government, and within the two years he spent as the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, his impact was really felt. We want somebody like that, and we are hoping that he will emerge as the party candidate during the primary and the Osun governor next year,” Abilagbo added.
