The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji has lauded the contributions of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, to the progress of Osogboland.
Ataoja said Basiru has been investing in cultural infrastructure that encourages social cohesion and economic growth, adding that he is one of the key support mechanisms for Osogboland.
The monarch stated this on Tuesday at his palace after taking possession of a state‑of‑the‑art sound system donated to the palace by the APC National scribe.
The premium sound system was presented to the monarch by Hon. Olayiwola Taofeek and Hon. Adebayo Olalekan on behalf of the Osogbo-born politician.
The duo noted that the donation was to boost cultural events, religious gatherings, and civic functions across the community.
The sound system which would be managed by the palace’s cultural affairs office, featured high-definition speakers, professional mixing consoles, and portable amplification equipment.
Ataoja, while praising Senator Basiru for his gesture, said the donation highlighted a growing commitment among many other development efforts the APC National Secretary has initiated in Osogbo and the palace.
“SRJ is my heir apparent and he has been investing in cultural infrastructure that encourages social cohesion and economic growth. He is one of the key support mechanisms for Osogbo, and he is doing his best for the town’s development, with expectations that we look up to him,” Ataoja was quoted as saying.
Baba Ataoja’s response, the donation highlights a growing commitment among many other development efforts Dr Basiru has initiated in Osogbo and the palace.
